This is a public service announcement.

Usenet's been around a lot longer than the web and there's a group called alt.sex.stories.moderated There's a collection of stories at http://assm.asstr.org/ going back 20 years or more for those that had never heard of it.

The quality varies from crude to sophisticated, there are short stories to novel-length pieces. There's a coding system for identifying the types of stories. There are thousands of them, have fun!

What I tend to do is find an author I like then search for other stories by them.

Most of these stories were written anonymously or using pen names, and it is still ongoing, so it's quite possible that some authors on usenet are also PV members.

I didn't read Penthouse Letters much, it was too tame, I went for Variations.

I don't censor my porn collection, there's a little of everything so there's no emphasis on a particular taboo du jour. I guess partly it depends where you live too. I haven't looked at where asstr.org is located but it exists openly somehow, somewhere. It's been around for 20 years, and it's non-profit.

I don't live this stuff, I hadn't even looked at it in a year or so, I just thought I'd put the URL out there. I've been a usenet fan on and off for 20 years or so, most people I've run into don't know what it is.

For a while (months?) I was busy reading the longer works by A_Strange_Geek and katzmarek not so much as erotica but as good fiction. The sex almost gets in the way and seems grafted on. katzmarek has some historical German and Russian military stuff that may not be authentic but I found it interesting. Geek has 2 series of books, I'm not sure which I prefer.
