Hello Folks
Just sitting here........waiting......................and, well you should know me by now, thinking. Looked up and caught my reflection in the mirror. No,I'm not in the bathroom, geez. Have a mirror by the door. Yanno, had 3 daughters and all. : )
Well, it made me think, think about reflections in the mirror. Oh I'm not talking about those we see everyday, those looks in the morning when getting ready, checking things out, hummm, need to hit the gym things. But something a little more deep.
You see I understand the physics of the actual reflections, a coating that instead of absorbing light waves will reflect them, give them back, all colors, one for one, until the colors, light waves, are returned and collected by the eye to create an image.
But it is something else I'm having a hard time figuring out. Something a little different. Something like, which came first, the chicken or the egg?
You see, I'm trying to figure out if the reflection we, as people, give to others is a result of what we see. You know, if someone smiles at you, waves, acknowledges you, you in return reflect that image back to them? Just like if you are ignored, frowned at, you reflect that.
On the surface, it sounds logical, we give back what we get. But something doesn't quite seem right. Chicken or the egg. Where does it start? Maybe what we see in others is really a reflection of us. If we give that sour look, it will be returned.
Then a whole new door opens up. What if, what if it compounds, those light waves add up, multiply, get stronger with each and every reflection, somehow combines until you have this massive reflection, one big beam of light? Wow, isn't science fun? Think of the possibilities.
And like all things of science, there are good aspects and there are bad. It is how we use science that makes the difference.
Oh the good of this is if all people were to be friendly, smile, wave, listen, acknowledge one another and if those light waves do compound, just think of it. The wonderment of it all, the possibilities for this world.
But more often than not, it is the bad that we see. And with it, those reflections, which are seen by others, who in turn, reflect it. Can you see where I'm going? You see, I think it is far easier to see the bad, I know I do. Guess bad press sells. It's a plot I say, some sick marketing tool.
Sometimes it is harder, so much harder to reflect the good. I think it is because, when we get those bad reflections from others, it is just easier to reflect it back.
But you know, there is hope. And yes it involves science. You see, it is possible to change an ugly reflection into good, it involves a little work, but you see, light waves can be bent, shaped, distorted. You can twist light waves to change the image, think the old fun house mirrors, the ones that turn a skinny person fat. Hummmmm, who and how did they slip in and change my bathroom mirror. Oh, sorry.......butterfly.......squirrel. lol
So I was just thinking of something, a little science experiment. Reminds me of days long ago when I got my first chemistry set. Let's try a little social experiment here at PV. Lets all look at ourselves in the mirror, see the reflection. If it is good, and I know quite a few in here that have good reflections, please don't think you can sit this one out. We need you, maybe as a catalyst. Something to get and keep the reaction going. But if you look in the mirror and see bad, well, there is work to be done. Roll up your sleeves, and concentrate, and use your mind, and bend those light waves, twist them, and turn them around. Turn the bad to good. And if you need help, say so, there are people here in PV that care.
But now, just think, think of it, the possibilities. Everyone here in PV all reflecting good, to each other in here. Can you imagine what happens when we all leave this world and enter the real.
And you know, maybe, just maybe, the world will become a better place, and all it takes is giving a good reflection.
So to wrap this up, which are you, the chicken or the egg? Yanno, does it really matter, either ones is pretty tasty.
All take care
I looked and when I saw myself the words on my tee-shirt were
backwards? Why?
Sam, next time, try standing on your head. Not sure if it would help, but pretty sure the reflection you get from us that are watching you would be funny.
When I look in the mirror I think man ,,,sure glad I am beautiful on the inside ,,, cause daaayuum I'm sure ugly on the outside ,,,,lol,,,,,so I don't look very often ; )
Sir69er Where are you?
