I guess you got mixed up between Vietnam & Malaysia! We have never been involved in any kinda war! The only time we had a war was when the Japs invaded Malaysia in 1943. There was a resistance movement who formed the Malayan Communist party. They later surrended to the British after the war. It's now a beautiful & peaceful country with peace loving people like me!
