Because I'm 65, I was hiding out. One day, I had a cough. It was quickly joined by fatigue, more fatigue, and then I got really tired. Over the course of 6 days (3-4 days in), I was awake a total of 14 hours. Temp never went above 99.8. I wore a blood O2 level monitor which stayed at 97-98% (below 90 isn't good) to make sure I didn't mess up my organs permanently.
That was end of Apr.- beginning of May.
Still dragging butt but it's a good excuse to be on the bottom;)
PS Thank God for the swivel, rocking, recliner.
Feel better soon!
Thanks for the well wishes everybody.
8-9 months after the fact, still dragging ass a little. My balance is kind of off, a tad wobbly.
Finally put my Vette back together after 2 years on blocks. It fired right up and passed the 145 mph test. Gravity helps me get in it but it seems a little tougher to get out of it. I have to park in the sticks so I can open the door all the way. It's a bitch sitting 4 inches off the ground.
I know someone who has it caught twice, so it can happen.. i don't work and don't have much of a social life right now, unless you count the Market cashiers that are plexi-glassed into their safe space... other than that all take care and stay safe.. and WEAR A FUCKIN MASK... hopefully by summer we can all get back to normal lives, Hiwayman take care bud.
My roommate's job is credit counseling so he talks to people all over the world. A number of them told him they have gotten it twice. A family member of his, who has only left their house maybe 30 times in the past year due to being high risk, eventually got it. Guess it doesn't really matter how safe you think you are being.
I don't know how people feel about the vaccination, but personally, I had no intentions of getting it since it is not FDA approved. I realized that I would not be able to go back to volunteering if I did not get it. The hospital where I volunteer, is part of a mega vaccination site near where I live. They send us emails with updates for availability when people are no shows for their appointments. My appointment for the end of the month was canceled due to a shortage of vaccines at that location. I was able to secure another one for last week since I fall into the current approved status, due to my medical issues.
I've only been out of the house maybe 15 times in the past year. Getting this vaccine doesn't really make me feel any safer. Normally it takes years of multi-phase trials, with thousands of people, before a drug is approved for use. Don't really trust these vaccines since they were all fast-tracked.
The only issue I had after getting the first dose was some arm discomfort about 6 hours after the injection.
