Howdy Folks

Sorry, wasn't expecting company tonight. I just got home myself. Been to one of those fancy soirees. You know about them don't you. Lot of folks, getting all gussied up in their fancy clothes. Standing around, sipping cocktails and wine. All trying to outdo each other pretending to be fancy.

I'm not a big fan of them, I guess. First, having to put on one of those nooses. Now some folk call them a tie, but to me, they are women's revenge on men. Oh, you know what I mean. They tell ya you look so spiffy in them, and us men will do anything to make a woman notice us, we'd even wear a noose. And they think they are clever by making them out of silk and such, make them right pretty, but they are still a noose.

Then you wear them overcoats, even on a hot day. Yes, those coats that have to match the pants. Suits they are called. Well, they don't really suit me. And to finish it, fancy shoes, nope, no boots allowed. Can you imagine that?

But in the end, I guess it was all a good thing. Got to see some pretty ladies, all dressed up in their finest, lots of those little black dresses. And let me tell you, boy, some were little. Heh, Heh.

And you know, not a bad feeling once you get used to it, sort of makes you want to puff that chest out a little, stand a little taller getting all cleaned up like that.

But you know, sitting here thinking over the evening, and well, decided to share some thoughts. You see, this soiree took place inside the local Art Institute. Real old school architecture, stone and marble. A lot of intricate details throughout the building. You just had to stand back and look in awe at the design.

So, me being me, got a little bored with the stuffy folks and took a stroll. Looking at all the pieces of art. Now. let me tell you, Ole Jahoo couldn't tell you the difference between the Dutch Masters or French Renaissance. Not one to study art all that well, listen to the "experts". I just like to stroll, looking at the art, finding ones that sort of jump out at me and make me feel something.

Now the world will want to tell you which are the best paintings, pieces of art. The ones considered priceless, the finest, But you know, beauty is found within yourself. If you listen to the world, let them tell you what good art is and what is bad, you've just become a snob yanno. And nothing worse in my eyes than someone that will look down their noses at others, just because they think thems better.

I think as long as the art says something to you, stirs something inside, that is good art. Doesn't matter what the world thinks.

Then it hit me. Made me really think. You know, beauty, and to be more specific, the beauty of a woman needs to be looked at in the same way. A woman is just like a piece of art. But the problem with it, there are some folks in the world that want to tell you what makes a woman beautiful. Just like art. But you must resist. You can't listen to the world. You must listen to what you see, and what you feel. Does she stir something inside of you. Does she make you feel some strong emotion when you see her, hear her, whenever she is around?

That my friends is the real beauty in a woman. She will do that to you, make you feel.......happiness when you see her, sadness when you don't. Joy when she speaks, and warmth when she is just there. That is beauty, and it doesn't matter if the world agrees with you or not.

So, men, always look a little deeper, don't listen to what the world tells you is beauty, look for yourself. You will find true gems hiding right out in the open.

And ladies, please listen to ole Jahoo. Yanno, there are men that will tell ya anything for a good time. But there are others.......ones that you can truly trust. You know them. When they tell you that you are beautiful, please don't ever try to point out the flaws. You see, he is telling you that because it is, it really is the beauty in you that he sees. Because you have stirred something inside of him.

Well, I'd better put this thing to rest. Oh, I know I lost half of you in my rambles tonight, maybe one glass of wine too many. But you know, just think it needed to be said.
